Guwahati: Assam CM attends 6th biennial convention of AASKSU in Tinsukia : Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday said that probably the most significant successes of the current state government in Assam has been to strengthening peace and concord as no incident of ethnic violence took place in the state all through the final four and a half years.

He attributed this to the State government’s exemplary initiatives for fostering peace and concord among all communities living in Assam.

The Chief Minister said this while taking part as the Chief Guest at the 6th biennial convention of Tinsukia district unit of All Assam Sonowal Kachari Students’ Union which was once held at Dandidhar Phatowali Samannay Kshetra, Bihiya village at Dangori in Tinsukia district on Monday.

The Sonowal Kachari community has played a very powerful role in Assam’s progress.

Highlighting the State government’s unrelenting tirade against corruption, the Chief Minister said that the Assam government had brought approximately remarkable reforms in the Assam Public Service Commission and consequently, recruitment process are being held in the most translucent manner facilitating meritorious students to protected government jobs.

Appreciating the role played by All Assam Sonowal Kachari Students’ Union for uplifting the Sonowal Kachari community in addition to strengthening the greater Assamese society, Chief Minister Sonowal urged students’ union to flag the issues of the students’ community for its greater benefits.

The Chief Minister at the same time also assured to take essential measures for addressing all issues with regards to improvement of infrastructure etc. of Dangori Higher Secondary School.

He also assured to positively look into the demand for setting up a college at Dangori excluding State Government’s dedicated efforts for early completion of Baithou Cultural Project transforming it into a very powerful destination of spiritual tourism.
