Assam COVID-19 crisis deepens with 14 deaths, 2,236 new cases


Guwahati: Assam’s COVID-19 scenario continues to be grim as the state records 14 deaths and 2,236 fresh cases in the final 24 hours.

The figures were confirmed by state health and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Out of the new cases, Kamrup Metro, which has been recording the highest number of cases in the state previously days, reported 815 cases.

A complete of 69,094 tests were conducted on Saturday, which is less as in comparison to past days.

The minister through his Twitter deal with informed that the overall positivity percentage of the state stands at 3.24%.

Meantime, the union health ministry in a commentary on Saturday said 3,46,786 new Covid19 positive cases were registered in the final 24 hours, taking India’s tally to 25,52,940.
