Assam Police rescue 22 including minors from human trafficking racket
Guwahati: A minimum of 22 persons including two minors were rescued by state police in Baksa district on Monday. Amongst the sufferers, there were 15 males and seven females.
Police have also nabbed two persons who were suspected to be members of an inter-state human trafficking racket.
Police sources said that each one of them were scheduled to be taken to Gujarat in the pretext of giving job in some fish packaging factory.
Assam police have launched a crackdown on human trafficking rackets after chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has ordered state police to take stern action against human traffickers.
“Anyone involved in human trafficking might not be spared,” said the CM.
