Guwahati: In wake of the barbaric incident where a doctor posted in Udali Covid Care Centre in Assam’s Hojai was once brutally thrashed, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday assured ‘speedy justice’ to the victim.
Assam Chief Minister took to his official Twitter deal with saying, “I am personally monitoring this investigation and I promise that justice will be served.”
24 culprits involved in this barbaric attack have been arrested and the chargesheet will be filed at the earliest.

Meantime, 24 persons including the main perpetrators & conspirators have been arrested in the Hojai assault case.
Leaving no stone unturned, the Hojai police launched an operation soon after a video of the incident had gone viral in which a group of around 20 people including women were seen manhandling Senapati and beating him with sticks and other items. They also tore his dress.
Two others including a woman were also injured in the attack.
Informing approximately the development, Special DG Assam Police, GP Singh took to his official Twitter deal with saying, “Further action till 0400 Hours on June 2nd – 24 persons including main perpetrators & conspirators have been arrested. This includes the woman seen in the video.”
The chargesheet will be filed at the earliest, confirmed the Assam top cop.
It is to be famous that after arresting one of the vital culprits in the evening hours, in further action – eight persons who are supposedly involved in assault on Doctor at Hojai had been arrested by the Hojai Police till middle of the night.
Later, 16 more persons have been picked up by Hojai Police till 12.45 am.
Names of perpetrators picked up till now – 1) Md.Kamaruddin 2) Md. Jainal uddin 3) Rehanuddin 4) Saidul Alam 5) Rahim Uddin 6) Rajul Islam 7) Tayebur Rahman 8) Sahil Islam, stated the top cop in his tweet.
