Coronavirus LIVE: 3,218 new cases in Maharashtra; tally rises to 1,938,854


Coronavirus update: With 17,080 fresh Covid-19 cases, India’s caseload now stands at 10,324,539. The country’s death toll has mounted to 149,470. With 1,938,854 cases, Maharashtra has the highest number of coronavirus cases, followed by Karnataka 918,544, Andhra Pradesh  882,612, Tamil Nadu 818,935, and Kerala 765,924. The day by day recoveries have out numbered the day by day new cases since the final 33 days successively. The recovery rate has reached almost 96 per cent.

An expert panel of India’s central drug authority on Saturday beneficial granting permission for restricted emergency use of the indigenously developed Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin with sure conditions, a day after giving similar direction for the Oxford Covid-19 vaccine. Covaxin has been indigenously developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).


World coronavirus update: The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 84,650,480. While 59,838,067 have retrieved, 1,839,562 have died so far. America, the worst-hit country, has 20,653,265 cases, and 356,428 have died from the disease there. It is followed by India, which has 10,324,539 cases, Brazil (7,703,916), Russia (3,212,637), France (2,639,773).
