Guwahati: The COVID-19 vaccination dry run introduction was once successfully conducted in Kamrup (M) on Saturday.
The dry run was once conducted in three hospitals of the city – Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Khanapara State Dispensary and Sonapur District Hospital from Saturday morning
National Health Mission (NHM) director Dr Lakshmanan S supervised the exercise in GMCH and Khanapara state dispensary.
Director of health products and services (FW) Assam, Munindra Nath Ngatey and Joint Director of health products and services, Kamrup Metro Dr Ganesh Saikia monitored the mock drill in Sonapur District Hospital while Joint Director (UIP) Dr Binita Goswami was once also present at the Khanapara State Dispensary.
The objective of the Dry Run for COVID-19 vaccination introduction is to evaluate operational feasibility in using Co-WIN application in field surroundings, to test the linkages between planning and implementation and to identify the challenges and guide way forward prior to actual implementation. This may be expected to give confidence to programme managers at quite a lot of levels.
