Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen Anil Chauhan visits Northeast
Guwahati: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command, Lt general Anil Chauhan reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness in Northeast.
General Chauhan visited Spear Corps and Assam Rifles units and formation in Nagaland and Manipur for three days from April 27 to April 29, 2021.
He also visited quite a lot of Army and Assam Rifles headquarters of the Spear Corps in Nagaland and Manipur to evaluate the situation on the ground, where he used to be briefed by senior army officials.
Lt Gen Johnson P Mathew, GOC Spear Corps briefed the eastern army commander on the operational preparedness in addition to counter-insurgency in Assam, Nagaland and Manipur.
Chauhan used to be also briefed on the status of the Framework Agreement in the ongoing Naga Peace Talks.
