Guwahati: The Munin Barkotoki Memorial Believe, instituted in 1995 in the cherished reminiscence of famous literature, critic and journalist late Munin Barkotoki, invited entries of Assamese books/manuscripts from young writers of promise for this year’s Munin Barkotoki Literary Award.
The award, instituted to encourage young and upcoming writers in Assamese, carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 at the side of a memento and a quotation.
Applicants will have to be less than 40 years of age as of January 1, 2021. They will have to not have more than three published books n Assamese to their credit. The book-entry award, whether this is a published book, will have to have published between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2020. Books that have already been awarded at the state or national level might not be thought to be for this award.
Young writers fulfilling the criteria can submit five copies of their published book or five copies of their manuscript at the side of a self-attested copy of their age certificate on or before July 31, 2021, at the Guwahati-based office of the Believe located at ‘Panchavati’, GNB Road, Silpukhuri, said a release.
An application form (to be had in the Believe website) must be also duly filled up and signed.
