Fear of lynching? Assam doctor takes up stick for self-defense

Guwahati: After the incident of Hojai doctor’s assault, a doctor in Assam’s Nagaon district took a stick for self-defense while writing a prescription.

This comes after the incident where a young doctor used to be brutally beaten by a mob and relatives of a Covid-19 patient after the patient had died at Odali Covid-19 care center in the Hojai district.

Reportedly, after the COVID-19 patient dies at the centre, the relatives of the dead patient brutally beaten the doctor identified as Dr Seuj Kumar Senapati.

A video of the incident also went viral on social media where some people were seen attacking the young doctor and kicking him.

A minimum of 24 people were arrested in connection with the alleged assault on the doctor.
