Gauhati University to hold offline exams with 20 days prior notification


Guwahati: The Gauhati University (GU) on Tuesday has informed that it’ll hold exanimations in offline mode with 20 days prior notification to the students after the situation reverts to normalcy.

The varsity in a release stated, “Discussed in detail approximately the nature of internet connectivity to be had to all students (approximately 2.5 lakhs located in different remote area in addition to lack of suitable electronic gadgets like laptop, smart phones etc), it is made up our minds that these examinations will be in the offline mode with 20 days prior notification after the situation reverts to normalcy.”

The university has also made up our minds to conduct classes of all semesters from the 1st week of May in the offline and online modes as per feasibility depending on the native situation in different places or institutions.

The release mentioned that whether the situation persists, the decisions will be reviewed as per requirement.

Then again, GU on Monday directed the boarders of hostels to evacuate the hostels at the earliest as all hostels will remain closed from April 27 to May 11.

The notification also informed the students to carry with them their valuable items and documents like laptops, marksheets, certificates, etc.
