Man arrested for allegedly raping mother-in-law in Guwahati


Guwahati: A man, aged 30, has been booked by Women Police, Pan Bazaar in Guwahati for allegedly raping his mother-in-law on Friday.

The accused identified as Bhupen Deka is an electrical appliances mechanic was once caught by city police under the aegis of Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhanita Nath from Bhangagarh.

As per a police outline, the accused on Friday afternoon visited his mother-in-law, aged 42, at her residence in the afternoon hours in the Noonmati area, Guwahati and raped her in the absence of her members of the family.

The infamous son-in-law was once arrested against case no 158/21 under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Pan Bazar Women Police Station.

It will also be mentioned that Bhupen Deka, a father of a 2-year-old baby, was once reported to be absconding from the crime scene on Friday evening.

He was once arrested by Pan Bazar Women Police from his relative’s home in the Bhangagarh area of Guwahati.

As per sources, accused Deka is a resident of Mathgharia in Guwahati and his wife works in a city-based NGO.
