MARKET LIVE: Sensex surges 500 pts, Nifty tops 14,450; ICICI Bank jumps 3%

Inventory market LIVE updates: Benchmark indices opened higher in Monday’s session, tracking firm cues from global peers, even as India continued to outline over 3 lakh Covid-19 cases. 

The BSE barometer Sensex used to be ruling 500 points up at 48,380 levels while NSE Nifty jumped 145 points and used to be hovering above14,450 mark. ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, ONGC, UltraTech and SBI were some of the top Sensex gainers while HCL Technologies, Power Grid and DRL were among top drags. 

Broader markets traded in tandem with benchmark indices with Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices up 1 per cent each and every. 


On the sectoral front, barring Nifty Pharma, all indices traded in the green. Nifty Bank with a gain of almost 2 per cent used to be the most productive performing index.

Earnings today
Tech M, SBI Card, and HDFC Life are some of the 15 companies that are scheduled to announce their quarterly numbers today.

Tech Mahindra is likely to post modest revenue growth in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2020-21 (Q4FY21), imagine analysts, led by seasonal strength in Comviva, an entity acquired by the firm in 2012, and bettering traction in the manufacturing, BFSI (banking, financial products and services & insurance) and technology segments.
