Meghalaya Government imposes ‘Complete Lockdown’ in state from June 7

Guwahati: Amid the uncontrollable surge in Covid-19 cases in the state of Meghalaya, the government has enforced ‘Complete Lockdown’ in all the state for next one week.

The order shall come into force from 5 am of June 7 till 5 am of June 14, 2021.

Earlier, the state government had imposed lockdown in only five districts namely East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, East Jaintia Hills, West Jaintia Hills and Ri-bhoi.

Following the announcement, the state government has strictly prohibited political, public, social and non secular gatherings.

Conferences, Meetings and trainings are also prohibited all the way through this period.

Entry of tourists from outdoor the state shall not permitted and all tourist spots shall remain closed.

Inter-state movement of persons shall be restricted; on the other hand, this shall not be relevant to transit vehicles of Assam/Tripura/Manipur/Mizoram.

Funeral gatherings have been restricted to 10 persons with prior permission of the respective Deputy Commissioners/SDO (Civil).

Weddings don’t seem to be permitted and sports activities are also not permitted all the way through this period.

Then again, home delivery services and products are permitted subject to prior permission and regulation by the respective Deputy Commissioners/SDO (civil).

E-commerce activities and courier services and products are permitted subject to prior permission and regulation by the respective Deputy Commissioners/SDO (civil).
