Minister Suklabaidya takes inventory of law and order situation along Assam-Mizoram border


Guwahati: Guardian Minister for Hailakandi district, Parimal Suklabaidya took inventory of the situation along the Assam-Mizoram inter-state border on Sunday.

Suklabaidya rang up Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Rohan Kumar Jha and took inventory of the prevailing situation along the inter-state border following torching of two deserted houses at Gollacherra under Gharmura whip on Assam side of the border approximately 150 metres absent from the inter-state border.

Jha apprised the Minister that out of the two deserted houses torched by miscreants on Friday, one has been fully gutted while the other partially damaged.

The Deputy Commissioner apprised the Minister that he along side Superintendent of Police and other police officials are visiting the troubled border area and that security has been beefed up to prevent any untoward incident. He said that though the situation is tense, it is under keep an eye on.

Minister Suklabaidya asked the Deputy Commissioner to take all imaginable measures to defuse the tension and to restore peace in the troubled spot. He also instructed the Deputy Commissioner to initiate confidence-building measures to cause approximately total normalcy in the bordering areas.
