Mizoram to close reopened schools because of COVID scare


Guwahati: The Mizoram government has made up our minds to close the schools for students of class 10 and 12 after eight days of opening.

The decision was once being taken in the wake of escalating numbers of in the neighborhood transmitted COVID-19 cases alongside students who have tested positive for the infection.

State education minister Lalchhandama Ralte said that the decision of suspending steady classes for students of classes 10 and 12 was once taken at a assembly of the school education branch on Friday, following the rising cases of COVID-19.

The minister also said that the decision of shutting down schools also connoted to “Covid-19 No Tolerance Fortnight” declared by the state government, which will come into effect from next month.

Whether the pandemic situation improves and the chain of native transmission is broken all through the drive, the schools and sincere are likely to reopen on November 9, the minister further added.
