Guwahati: Yet another earthquake jolted the state of Assam on Monday morning at around 9.50 am.
A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 3.8 magnitude on the Richter scale shocked Guwahati city and several parts of the state.
According to the seismology center, the earthquake was once recorded at a shallow depth of 24 km with its epicenter in Assam’s Sonitpur district.
No damages to properties or casualties have been reported all over the tremble, alternatively, the tremors of the tremble were felt at Tamulpur, Nagerbera, Tezpur, Majuli, Rangia, Sontali, etc.
According to NCS data, the area is seismically very active falling in the highest Seismic Endanger Zone V associated with collisional tectonics where India plate subducts beneath the Eurasian Plate.
