Guwahati: In a sensational incident, Kamrup Rural police on Saturday launched a major crackdown at the office of the Inspectorate of schools against an alleged cash-for-result scam.
It is alleged that the branch has been allegedly involved in providing first division, distinctions, pass grades to Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) students in exchange for money.
Under the supervision of Kamrup Rural Superintendent of police, a team of Kamrup police launched an operation at the office of the Inspectorate of school on Saturday and picked up several inspectors of schools officials for quizzing.
Reportedly, the operation lasted for no less than 4 hours.
All over the raid, police seized several laptops, mobile phones and several documents from the office of the Inspectorate of Schools in Kamrup rural district.
Kamrup police also seized a appreciable amount of money all over the operation.
It can be mentioned that the Board exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 (HS) students have been cancelled in the state and it has been made up our minds by the government that results will be prepared based on recommendations made by two expert committees.
The two committees of the Assam Government had already submitted the outline proposing procedures to assess students of Class 10 and 12 two weeks back.
