PM Modi’s Dussehra greetings on ‘Mann Ki Baat’; India stands firmly with country’s soldiers


Guwahati: Addressing the nation through his monthly radio programe “Mann ki Baat”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India stands firmly with the country’s security forces and courageous soldiers.

The minister began his speech by extending his wishes on Dussehra adding, “The soldiers are serving the nation absent from their circle of relatives as they guard the country’s borders to be sure that the people in the country are protected from outside threats.”

In 70th edition of his monthly programme, Modi urged the people to light a lamp for the courageous soldiers, who are celebrating the festival amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

He said that many festivals like Eid, Diwali will take place right now of the year and that all the way through these festivals, and one should be mindful the courageous soldiers who have stood at the borders. “We need to light a lamp at home, in honour of these courageous sons and daughters of Mather India,” said the PM.

Modi’s remark came at a time when the nation is locked in a standoff with China. The standoff is still continuing despite several rounds of high-level talks, dragging the Indo-China ties to a new low.

The Prime Minister also urged the people to celebrate festivals with restraints and to keep in mind the unravel of ‘vocal for native’ while shopping.

He said. “Today is the festival of Vijay Dashmi – Dussehra. I extend my best wishes to all of you on this auspicious occasion. This festival of Dussehra is the festival of victory of truth over untruth. But at the same time, it’s also a festival of victory of patience over crisis. Today, all of you are living with great restraint, celebrating festivals with modesty. Subsequently, in the battle, we are fighting against COVID-19, victory is sure.”
