Guwahati: Get well power dues of Govt employees through deduction of pay by respective DDOs: CM
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in presence of Power Minister Bimal Borah reviewed the functioning of three power companies ― Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL) and Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGCL) in the state on Sunday.
In case of non-payment of electricity invoice by the government employee, the Chief Minister has directed to deduct the amount from the employee’s salary through the concerned DDOs.
The Chief Minister also issued the following directions and directives all through the assembly:
Build a database of 63 L consumers to minimize the companies’ losses by developing a better billing systemFollow Gujarat mannequin for turning the companies into ecocnomic venturesTo meet with sub-divisional engineer level officials next month to reinforce power meteringTo plan for conversion of the companies into ecocnomic entitiesImmediately set up 500 power transformers in the profit-making centres of the companiesProper generation of APDCL’s other sources of revenue but even so electricity billTo ease APDCL’s liability for power purchase & make budget provisions for Govt depts to lucid unpaid power duesDeclare all police stations as APDCL PSs to maintain power pilferage casesResearch by a special committee before starting the second one phase of AEGCL’s ‘Assam Intra Transmission System Enhancement’ projectTransform the energy companies on par with the Gujarat mannequin in both profit and technology aspects inside this Govt’s tenure
