GUWAHATI: The Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP), the most recent political party floated by All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) to take a call on joining hands with Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) led the political front of Raijor Dal only after its general conference slated on December 16-17.
It’s in the AJP general conference where former AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi is likely to enroll in the party officially together with thousands of his supporters.
AJP chief convener Krishna Gopal Bhattacharyya said, “The core committee of the party will be declared on December 16 while the first state executive assembly will be held on December 17. The charter of the party may also be placed right through the conference. It’s only after this; the party will take its call on imaginable alliance and future strategy.”
On Thursday, AASU tender a formal farewell to Gogoi and a dozen other members of the student group.
Gogoi who turned emotional said that though he was once bidding farewell to AASU but would continue to work for the community and people of the state.
He also gave absent a sum of Rs 5.51 lakh which was once raised right through the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) movements in the state final year. AASU had raised funds from the public to contest a case before the Supreme Court against the Centre’s move to herald CAA.
Gogoi said, “AASU has provided me everything that I am today. The love I have received from the people of Assam will at all times encourage and inspire me to dedicate my life for the people of Assam.”[ad_2]
