this correspondence News | Assam COVID19 Second Wave: E-commerce, Home Delhivery, Takeaway Service Allowed Beyond 6 PM


GUWAHATI: E-commerce services and products in the state can function even after 6 PM, said a fresh standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the State Catastrophe Management Authority (SDMA) Assam on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the state government while issuing an SOP restricted all shops, markets, shopping malls to function their commerce till 6 PM only in districts where Covid 19 cases have crossed 100. In Assam, some 16 districts have recorded to have over 100 cases so far.

The SDMA in its latest SOP has also allowed the restaurants, dhabas and other eateries to entertain dine-in guests only up to 6.00 pm.

“Then again, take absent, home delivery is allowed up to the standard time of closure as per native regulations,” the SOP said.

The SOP added that restaurants operating inside a hotel or resort can allow out of doors guests up to 6 PM only. Then again, in-house guests of the hotel or resort is also allowed to dine in up to the standard time of operation.

“Bloodless storages and warehouses may continue beyond 6 PM. Then again, sale counters, showrooms, etc. attached to these warehouses or bloodless storages shall near after 6 PM,” the SOP added.

Pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres and veterinary clinics were allowed to function without restrictions being providers of fundamental and emergency services and products.

Assam recorded 1651 fresh cases on Tuesday while three patients died. The state has a minimum of 7685 active Covid cases so far. The city recorded 742 fresh cases on Tuesday too. Assam’s positivity rate stood at 2.46 % till Tuesday.
