GUWAHATI: In an joint operation by Wildlife Crime Keep an eye on Bureau Guwahati, Simla Police station, Baksa and Musalpur Forest Division, two elephant tusk used to be seized and three accused were arrested on Monday.
A number of the seized items there were 1 hand-made gun, 6 crackers, 26 ammunitions and 1 Deer antler with cranium.
The operation used to be done in Hapachara and Koraibari village of Baksa district in Assam.
It is mentioned that throughout the month of August a young elephant used to be killed at Batabari reserve forest and its tusk used to be bring to a halt.
WCCB went through the case and tried to collect information approximately the tusks. Consequently the day prior to this, both the tusks have been retrieved and the weapon by which elephant used to be killed also retrieved. But the forensic opinion is still waited.
