GUWAHATI: An inter-ministerial central team to visit Assam for flood and landslide damage assessment next week.

The high-level team headed by Shri Sandeep Poundrik. IAS. Extra Secretary (Mitigation). NDMA will visit flood-affected districts of Assam between November 23 to 25 for on-spot assessment of flood and landslide damage all the way through the current year.

As per the go back and forth plan, the first team will visit Goalpara and Bongaigaon districts and the second one team will visit Nagaon and Hojai districts concurrently on the same dates.

In Assam, this year over 133 persons drowned in over three waves of flood and over 40 lakhs were affected.
