GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of NF Railways have rescued a minor girl from the Guwahati railway station on Friday.
The 17 year old minor found to be hailing from the city’s Bijoynagar area.
NFR official said, “While undertaking routine inspection, a sleuth of RPF Guwahati noticed one minor girl moving alone in the concourse area of Guwahati railway station in distressed condition. On being asked, she disclosed her name and age.”
Later she stated that she ran absent from her home at Bijoynagar, under Kamrup (Metro) district.
Thereafter, the minor girl used to be brought to the RPF post for further essential action. After a medical examination and observing all formalities the rescued minor girl used to be handed over to Railway Child Help Line, Guwahati, said the official.
Meantime, RPF also seized around 95 kilos of ganja in separate operations at Guwahati and Dimapur railway stations.
