Guwahati: After being admitted for 60 days, former chief minister Tarun Gogoi was once discharged from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday.

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the news via Twitter, he wrote, “Former Chief Minister of Assam Sri Tarun Gogoi has been discharged from Guwahati Medical College today after 60 days of hospitalization. His further remedy shall continue in his official residence under the supervision of the doctors from medical college. My best wishes.”

The 85-year old Gogoi was once admitted to the GMCH after he was once tested positive for COVID-19 on August 26. In addition, he was once shifter to intensive care unit (ICU) on September 24, following a drop in his oxygen saturation level.

Gogoi, who have served three terms as the chief minister of Assam, has been advised to stay home and his health will be under supervision of the doctors.
