This correspondence News | Two top Ulfa (I) leaders Discharged from Duty on ‘Disciplinary’ ground


GUWAHATI: The Paresh Baruah led hardliners faction of United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) has been discharged two of its senior leaders from their duties of the outfit on disciplinary ground.

Both the senior leaders were identified as the outfit’s assistant cultural secretary Samiran Asom and self-styled captain Lakhyajit Asom.

In an email observation from Baruah, said that they were discharged from their positions and duties from September 3.    

Then again, the observation did not reveal too why they were discharged or what was once the matter that led to the development.

Recently, the state’s health and circle of relatives welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah was once eager to get to the bottom of the Ulfa (I) issues soon.

Referring to his telephonic conversation with Shah, Sarma said, “We had discussed issues pertaining to enduring peace in northeast India.”
