Agartala: Union Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda on Monday appreciated the endeavour of the Tripura government and said that the financial, social, and regional balance of the tribes will be maintained with the assistance of special central assistance launched by GoI.
The union minister also claimed that the overall development of the tribes in Tripura shall remain the topmost precedence for the central government.
All the way through his day-long visit to Tripura, the union Tribal Welfare minister reviewed the entire schemes for the welfare of the tribes granted by the Government of India and has accepted the other proposals from the state government.
Addressing the media at the state guest house here on Monday, he said the central government was once helping with open arms in the interest of the tribal people of the state. He also mentioned that under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi he has visited the state to examine the overall condition of the central schemes and other developmental oriented projects launched for the welfare of the indigenous people of the state.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to make sure quality education for tribal students at the highest level following which we have taken an initiative to cause changes in the mannequin and initiated efforts to upgrade the Ekalavya mannequin schools across the country. The matter was once also taken up with the state government and their suggestions were incorporated in the process of upgradations”, Munda told the media at the state guest house here in Agartala.
He also claimed that the central government will be coming up with some more ambitious plans for the tribal people in the state.
According to him, the financial, social and regional balance of the tribes will be properly maintained in the plan of the central government. The role of the Tripura government towards that goal is reasonably passable, he added.
In the assembly, Tribal Welfare minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia and state officials of the branch were also present.
